Conservation Framing

Gateway Gallery provides, galleries, museums, public and private collectors, artists and individuals with custom archival framing solutions and conservation services.

At Gateway Gallery Framing Services, our primary concern is to create a safe and protective environment in which to preserve the life and value of your artwork. A vast array of artworks made from a wide variety of materials has been handled over the years.

Every piece of art requires individual consideration to determine the appropriate frame, treatment, adhesives and matting options.

Conservation Framing employs the use of materials that have been proven to protect and maintain art in as close to its original condition as possible. If it's worth framing, it's worth protecting.

Did you know? All photographs and art need to be glazed with at least 97% UV protection to prevent irreversible damage.

From the poster you picked up at an art fair, to a lithograph you saw in an antique shop, to the photos of your family you want to display, there are lots of reasons why you want to show off the art and artifacts that are important in your life, perfectly. Some framed pieces add to the decoration in a room, some just have sentimental value, but all need one thing: to be preserved and to look their best on the walls of your home. That's why Gateway Gallery offers the perfect framing glass or acrylic for what you value most. Whether it's to reduce reflection because of an adjacent window, or to protect a print from the harmful rays of the sun, the right product is available at Gateway Gallery - a professional framer. Just ask!

Conservation Framing employs the use of materials that have been proven to protect and maintain art in as close to its original condition as possible. If it's worth framing, it's worth protecting.

Conservation quality artboard is free of all acids, lignins and other impurities found in ordinary "pulp" board. The result is an inert or pH neutral board which will cause no damage to the artwork it encases as time goes by.

Conservation Quality picture framing glass is specially formulated to protect framed works of art from the damaging effects of ultraviolet light.

Most pieces brought to a framer should be framed with conservation in mind. If the item you are framing is an irreplaceable, one-of-a-kind photograph, document or piece of memorabilia, or if it is an original work of art or a limited edition, it should be framed using conservation techniques and materials.

When To Use Museum Glass can be used on any custom frame project, whether an original work of art or a print, a photograph, a shadowbox or a treasured keepsake. When you care enough to use the very best, your project calls for Museum Glass. See several framing examples here.
